fine art

Ann graduated with a Master of Fine Arts Degree from the University of Colorado and a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from Grand Valley State University.  After teaching for several years at the Interlochen Center for the Arts she chose to follow her interests in textile design and began work for a textile studio in Grand Rapids, MI designing luxury custom carpets. One of her most notable pieces was a carpet designed for the White House Family Dining Room based on a weaving by Anni Albers, commissioned by the Josef and Anni Albers Foundation and designers for Michelle Obama. Ann maintains a national and international exhibition and residency record and her artwork focuses on the inconspicuousness and overlooked elements of nature’s fleeting splendor. Through her use of pattern and repetition, she accumulates ephemeral materials, highlighting significance in the insignificant. Eso Studio became an additional way to pay homage to the beauty inherent in natural materials and using them to enhance our daily surroundings.
